What’s Your Favorite Comic Novel?
Recently, the National Book Critics Circle asked its members about their favorite comic novel. The novel mentioned most often on the NBCC Blog was: Joseph Heller’s Catch-22.
In another NBCC Blog post, Nabokov’s novels, Lolita, Pale Fire, and Pnin are mentioned, too.
I didn’t write an essay on my favorite, but I would’ve chosen Stanley Elkin’s The Living End: A Triptych,
Everyone from John Irving to Sam Lipsyte to William Gass loved this book.
